The El Paso Opera 2012-2013 will be one to remember with passion, comedy and the best in music and theatre!  As we celebrate our 19th season of providing the borderland region with quality and professional performances lead by internationally acclaimed singers, the El Paso Opera is pleased to showcase a season of passion and comedy in abundance.

The season begins with Opera For All! – Opera Para Todos! on September 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Abraham Chavez Theatre. The start of the season will showcase the unique performances by the 2012 Richard Tucker Career Grant recipient and young opera trailblazer Nicholas Pallesen; nationally acclaimed mezzo soprano Vanessa Cariddi and Prima Donna for New York City Opera Lauren Flanigan.  As a treat to the community, ticket prices are just $25.00 for adults and all children 16 and under will enjoy the concert FREE with the purchase of an adult ticket. Waltzing & Opera!On October 25, 26 and 28 join your El Paso Opera for an unforgettable experience for all senses with music, dessert, champagne and waltz as part of the Johann Strauss classic operetta Die Fledermaus. Come out for a splendid affair, watch a wonderful story, toast the cast and dance with the stars!  The unique performance will take place at the Summit Ballroom.

The Birth of Opera will be celebrated as part of the Golden Age: Birth of Opera on December 1, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. at the El Paso Museum of Art. Join tenor Jeffrey Lentz and EP Opera Artistic and General Director David Grabarkewitz for the celebration of Art!  Ticket for the event will include a reception with wine and hors d’oeuvres and free admission tickets to Art as Life- Rembrandt, Rubens and Golden Age Painting in Europe 1600-1800 from the Speed Art Museum.

The 2012-2013 Season will culminate with the performance of The Barber of Seville.  The Rossini classic will be featured at the Abraham Chavez Theatre on March 14 and March 16, 2013 with an all-star cast: Vanessa Cariddi as Rosina, Melissa Parks as Bertha and  Nicholas Pallesen as The Barber.    Come and join Rossini’s zany characters in this legendary comic opera with memorable melodies, stellar cast and a fully-staged production.
